Not that we were a-social to begin with, far from that, but since a little while FontShop BeNeLux has incorporated a number of social media channels in its communication activities. Although FontShop and FontFont already have Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Behance, Isuu, … accounts, FontShop BeNeLux thought it would be useful to deliver localised information to our customers in The Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg. Plus now you can share any Unzipped post by simply clicking the appropriate icon in the navigation side bar.

Looks like I’m on a kinky streak (pardon the pun). After the vintage 70s and 80s porn logos on The Fontfeed here's another post with nekkid girls. This one however has nothing to do with porn movies, but more with guerilla filming and performance art.

typeface Sevarek OT | FontStars 2007 My Type of Music is the regular feature where I look at the covers of newly released music albums. As with the Screenfonts feature, I focus on type but throw in some general remarks here and there. The selection of albums is mainstream, not too commercial popular music. I’m always open for suggestions, so feel free to send me any CD cover you’d like to have discussed or identified.
Hey, another lingering category that needs to be put back on the rails. Let’s get to it.

Now that I’m beyond embarrassment I might as well continue catching up on lost episodes of My type of Music and Screenfonts. Whoa, January already? Watch me dance! :P

Another skeleton comes falling out of the closet, as I also had a My Type of Music prepared with the last releases of the last year. Whatever, while I’m cleaning the place I might as well finish this one as well. The end of the year traditionally was a slow period with mostly compilations, which is why I wanted to take a look at both November and December and get it over with.

Yeah, I know – two weeks without new posts is too long, even if we had the terrific Valentype Gallery to keep us going. Thing is I’ve been stuck with simply too much to do. Fortunately some of it will allow me to add some very interesting material to Unzipped. One of the things that have kept me busy has nothing to do with design nor typography at all though. I had to design and rush out the artwork for the first single of the new album of my band Troubleman, which I’d like to introduce to you.

Awards Season continues on Unzipped. The Grammy Awards feature a staggering amount of categories – this year there were no less than 110 winners. The general consensus amongst music connoisseurs is that musically the Grammies have little to no relevance. Yet I thought I’d take a look at categories 88 and 89 in Field 24 – Packaging, respectively Best Recording Package and Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package. |

I’m still two months behind, so without further ado – here are the October releases.

image Brand X Photography | CD Concepts Typophile is not just about discussing type, critiquing type or identifying type. There also is quite a bit of fun to be had – I’ve talked about the Type ID Pop Quizzes in the past. Another occasional game are the Type Battles. The recent challenge is the fantastic Album Cover Meme which is currently doing the rounds of the blogosphere.

I have quite a backlog waiting to be processed, so let’s whiz through the September releases first.
