Hey, it's Friday 13th again! While many people shun this day, I just love it, as it always gives me an excuse to post total and utter silliness on Unzipped. Last time we had a fun contest. Our readers were invited to send in a picture of their favourite cringe-worthy typo or typographic blunder they had come across. Wim De Munter (Aalst, Belgium) won one of the gorgeous hand printed specimens of wood type Chaparral, printed by Scott Polzen, with a screenshot from the Belgian official Lexus website in 2006, displaying two typos in four words – “The persuit of perfefction.” And in the Amateuristic But Beautiful category Arjan Doeleman (Rotterdam, The Netherlands) won with a jumbled up red and white hairdresser’s sign.

This time no contest, but an amusing and often hilarious Group Pool on Flickr – Bad Menus! It compiles bad and funny restaurant menus, signs and food packages, most often of the Engrish variety. The images feature egregious misspellings, bad translations, lousy visual layout, and disgusting-looking food. If you have some time to burn, dive in!
