Not that we were a-social to begin with, far from that, but since a little while FontShop BeNeLux has incorporated a number of social media channels in its communication activities. Although FontShop and FontFont already have Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, YouTube, Vimeo, Behance, Isuu, … accounts, FontShop BeNeLux thought it would be useful to deliver localised information to our customers in The Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxemburg.
Since a month or so FontShop BeNeLux has an account on the following social media websites:
YouTube
The FontShop BeNeLux YouTube channel for the gathers all kinds of type and typography-related films and classifies them in a number of categories, ranging from typographic commercials over type in music videos to font art. In the future we will also use the channel for posting our own productions.
Flickr
The function of Unzipped has gradually evolved since Yves became the main editor on The FontFeed, and popular categories like ScreenFonts and My Type of Music were ported to his new playground. Our Flickr photostream present fonts in use in themed sets and collections, so you can find the latest movie posters and album covers in The Netherlands and Belgium amongst many others.
Facebook
Of course no social media effort would be complete without a Facebook page. Become a friend and learn everything from new type to insane office antics.
Twitter
And for people wanting to stay up to date to the minute there's the FontShop BeNeLux Twitter account.
Hyves / Netlog
Both a Hyves and a Netlog account were created, so fans and friends can connect with us on the most popular social network sites in The Netherlands and Belgium respectively.
Not only can you connect with us, now you can also share Unzipped posts with any of your connections. Three share buttons were integrated in the Unzipped interface: one for sharing a post on Facebook, one for Twitter, and the third button allows you to add a URL to any social network. A simple click and you’re done. Quick and effective.
