Valentype | Testify and win the FontFont you love

Image  Hooters and Hounds by Kimm Saatvedt · Type  FF Ginger
If you know what it’s like to passionately love a typeface, here’s a golden opportunity. Declare your love for a FontFont (only FontFonts apply!) and win an official single license to four (4) weights in OpenType* format of that FontFont (for example Regular, Italic, Bold, Black). This love declaration can take any form you like: a poem, an image, a short text, whatever you feel like creating. Accepted languages for text entries are English, Dutch and French (terribly sorry but my German is rubbish). Just make sure that I don’t have to do anything to post your entry in the gallery which will be appended to this post (see technical details below). See last year’s gallery on here.
(*) If your preferred font is not available in OpenType format you can choose between PostScript Type 1 en TrueType.

The contest starts now and ends next Saturday February 14th at midnight GMT. But there is one catch – we want at least fifty (50) submissions or the contest is void, annulled, nihil, zilch, nada. Fortunately you can enter up to three (3) submissions, so in theory if twenty very motivated people compete we’re more than good.

The contest is open to anyone residing in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, customers and non-customers alike, students and professionals, men and women, straight and gay, all races, all religions, no restrictions, no boundaries. So get busy in the name of love! Last year you had a little under 48 hours; now with more than a week I don’t want to hear anyone complain. I expect submissions of the highest quality. ;)

:: IMPORTANT :: This leg of the contest is open only for residents of The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. International FontFontFans go over to The FontFeed!

Procedure

Send me an e-mail (unzipper{at}fontshop{dot}be) with Valentype and the name of the FontFont in the subject line. This is crucial because I filter my incoming e-mails: no Valentype in the subject line means I won’t see your submission. Include your name and full postal address in the message and your love declaration in attachment.
Poems or short texts must be saved as text or MS Word format.

Typographic art or design must be saved for web (Save for Web... command in Adobe Photoshop) as
a simple JPEG (no progressive JPEG!) High Quality RGB image, measuring exactly 440 pixels wide and minimum 100 to maximum 500 pixels high.
The file name must read “YourFullName_FontFontName” (plus the file extension of course). Substitute “YourFullName” with your actual name (no spaces) and “FontFontName” with the name of the
FontFont you covet.

Important

As evaluating and posting the entries is a hell of a lot of work:
· I will not accept submissions for fonts not included in the FontFont Library.
· You can however design your submission with any typeface you like.
· I will not accept submissions of the wrong dimensions.
· I will not accept submissions that don’t conform to the naming rules.
