Unzipped Type Quiz 11

Sorry for skipping a month with the quiz, but I had other stuff on my mind – the relaunch of The FontFeed. Now that the dust has settled I’m looking to go back to a more organized posting schedule. Here’s the solution to the previous quiz and a new challenge, and this one’s a mother. I can’t promise anything yet, but I might negotiate a prize for the person who finds the correct answer. As usual, do not comment in this thread but send me the solution by e-mail.

Solution for the Unzipped Type Quiz 10

I’m glad the last quiz was answered by a number of people, and many were surprised it was “that easy”. Well, I can tell you it always seems easy when you know the solution, right? Like I wrote when I introduced this quiz there were at least two correct answers to the obvious question: what do the typefaces below all have in common? All were designed by French type designers, and the names have to be pronounced in French as well. That is why Univers and Eurostile couldn’t be included – the names also need to be pronounced in French, but their respective designers are Swiss and Italian.

I’ll admit straight away that this is a hard one, so I’ve put the key typeface at the top. As usual, what do the typefaces below all have in common? If nobody finds the answer I’ll follow up with a hint in the comments in a week or so. The first one to find the answer can safely be named official type hotshot. Good luck to you all!
