In British comedy every generation has its comedic geniuses, and in my humble opinion Ricky Gervais definitely is one of them. Besides having made the ground-breaking and acclaimed comedy shows The Office and Extras he is an extremely talented stand-up comedian as well. Not only are his texts outrageously funny, but his acting is superb, as he masters the art of comedic timing and suggestion to perfection.

But don’t take my word for it – check it for yourself. This alternative Bible study from his first show Animals had me LOL, ROTFL and LMO. ‘There’s pride in your work, and there’s arrogance’. Hilarious … :D So do yourself a favour and get a DVD from his shows Animals, Politics and the upcoming Fame. Must-see stuff!

And to end the endless discussion below, here's a little clip that Rudy wanted me to add. Peace everyone. :)

Foolish people joke about GOD creating the world, even if that`s and obvious fact. On the judgement day, all will accept that, but then it will be too late. Read the Bible, the only book worth reading!
No disrespect, but doesn't that get a bit boring after a while? I guess that after a couple of reads you already know how the story goes, no?
Thank you for the tip on the DVD's. He is indeed one of the better British comedians out there! Although I can certainly appreciate other types of comedy as well :).

?after a couple of reads you already know how the story goes? > Probably, but you must also see that it has a story for you too. It has a plan for you. The Bible is not JUST a history book, a roman, a poetry book. It`s not something that you read and throw away. It`s the Book. A book to apply to your life and practice daily. But no wonder the people today don`t know how to live and ruin they lives: they were never interested in what God says about life. And who could write better about life that it`s Creator?

"Probably, but you must also see that it has a story for you too. It has a plan for you."
Oh PLEASE! get real and grow up. U're making us sick with that jibberjabber.

- WARNING - Yogi, although I understand your frustration, I will NOT tolerate personal attacks in the comments. Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, and this includes religious fundamentalists. I don't think Lucian targeted anybody in particular in his comments. If you want to discuss something, keep it courteous.

"And who could write better about life that it's Creator?" Well, he clearly forgot to mention something about the necessity to have a sense of humour. :)

"Bible is not JUST a history book, a roman, a poetry book. It`s not something that you read and throw away. It`s the Book."
I thought the FontBook was THE Book.

Peter, it is ...it is
The FontBook is just a book. FontBook won't teach you how to live, won't give you hope, and neither will it tell you what comes after death (!) There's nothing wrong in having a sense of humour, it's just that when it comes to life&death things are pretty serious, don't you think? What's really hilarious is an atheist trying to prove there is no God. :)

The FontBook is just a book ... That is correct LE. FontBook won't teach you how to live ... hm... as a Helvetica perhaps, in order to stay as neutral as possible. "When it comes to life&death things are pretty serious" correct ...hence the Helvetica and never the Comic Sans. Oh and I don't want to prove that there's no God ... only mine is called Spiekaman
To rudy: Spiekaman is afraid of death. He is talking about that in his lectures by the way.. So I think you've put your trust in ?the wrong someone?. Think again. Life is more than fonts, graphic design and Adobe. But it's easier to think only at the material things than to try to find the real answers. You choose your way, but there is only One good way, not many.

What strikes me is how easily and carelessly Creationists and other religious fundamentalists brush aside decades -- even centuries -- of history and science to believe in something that throughout the ages nobody has ever been able to prove. It's like holding an apple in your hand, touching the smooth skin, smelling the sweet and sour scent, sensing the skin crack under your teeth when taking a bite, feeling a bit of juice on your lips and running down your chin, tasting the flavour on your tongue and then going: "I believe this is a strawberry". :D BTW Re: your previous comment: I really don't think Ricky Gervais is trying to prove there is no God; he's just pointing out how far-fetched and difficult to believe the so-called Book of Truth is. It's just comedy -- and very fine one -- nothing more. ;)

What strikes me is the awful kerning on the word Animals behind him. ;)

And set in Arial to boot! Blech... Have you seen the backdrop for his show Politics? Even worse -- the 'o' is glued to the 'P', and you can drive a truck through the space between the 'o' and the 'l'. :D

Hello!? Even history and science exist because God created the world so that history and science had something to talk about. No scientist ever proved he found the way the earth was created, as he was stubborn enough not to accept it was created by God. But thank God that many people (including scientists) came to the fact that faith is not faith when you can see and prove. You don't need faith to believe that the apple exists when you can see it! People don't do anything to wake up in the morning or to keep their heart beating, but it's also a foolish way to think when one says that this things go on just like that, and take everything from granted... Re: your previous comment with the apple and the strawberry is really deviated from the subject. I'm not making suggestions here or saying that one thing is something else, I'm only pointing you to the truth...and the reality.
Now that's convenient, is it? Whatever science throws at you can be explained as being created by God? Even the fact that science can prove that Earth has existed for billions of years? I guess this discussion is going nowhere, as you won't be able to convince me. Bottom line is that any religion is called "faith" for a reason. You're free to believe what you want, but leave us atheists the freedom to consider what you do just what it is: "belief". I'm convinced we can co-exist peacefully. :)
The Earth is not so old as it was thought. It has aprox 6000 years in reality. And that's what the Bible says too all the time. Regarding all this subject, I can not convince you, I'm only trying to tell you that there is only one God, and one way to His Kingdom, and the Gospel was written for all people, no mather the country or the career line! Religion is different from a relationship. And God calls people to have a close relationship with Him, through His Word, not to obey formal religious rules. Only in that way can their lives be changed in good. Yes we can co-exist peacefully, but the difference is seen at the end... Think about that.

Mr. Last Effort makes me listen to some good ol' Slayer:
You go to the church, you kiss the cross
You will be saved at any cost
You have your own reality
Christianity
You spend your life just kissing ass
A trait thats grown as time has passed
You think the world will end today
You praise the lord, its all you say
Jesus saves, listen to you pray
You think youll see the pearly gates
When death takes you away
For all respect you cannot lust
In an invisible man you place your trust
Indirect dependency
Eternal attempt at amnesty
He will decide who lives and dies
Depopulate satanas rise
You will be an accessory
Irreverence and blasphemy
Jesus saves, no need to pray
The gates of pearl have turned to gold
It seems you've lost your way
Jesus saves, no words of praise
No promised land to take you to
There is no other way

Hallelujah L.E. I guess we can stop this topic, this going far beyond the purpose of this blog. We allowed you to express your opinion but it is over now. At the end we will have a drink I guess ... but it might be crowded ... kind of difficult to find each other in a bar somewhere. So I leave you with the nice clip that was added at the bottom of the message ... made for all believers and Gods protecting us eternally ... Unzipper can you stop all new entries for this item? Thanks Rudy
